TEST POST 1 Day Equine Biomechanics Course


This one day biomechanics course will cover an array of equine performance & current research which will make you
“think outside the box” in order to optimise the horse’s soundness, performance and welfare. Open to all : horse owners, therapists, riders etc and will be delivered with a mixture of theory and practical demonstrations.

From Centaur’s vast research portfolio, the course will cover the following:
•  Anatomy of the horse including dissection images
•  The effect that girths, saddles, bridles, half pads have on the horse
•  The effect that the rider has on the horse
•  The effect that training aids and rollers.

Seminar – fundamentals of biomechanics science, including equine anatomy, equine performance and soundness essentials. Evaluating current case studies with the latest research in biomechanics. Includes examination of slow
motion Centaur’s Olympic footage, Badminton Cross Country, dressage, show jumping & various equine disciplines with supporting research data. 

Practical session demonstrating gait & rider analysis techniques. The biomechanics essentials with demonstration horses & rider. See how motion cameras & internial sensor are used in biomechanics analysis & research. Look at rider posture, equine movement and identify conformation strengths and weaknesses.
